On The Sea & In The Town
Hotel Mediterraneo sits a the edge of the market & resort town of Sapri. The mayor will perform (fully legal) civil ceremonies on the the beach at the hotel (extremely unusual for Italy) - our no hassle approval also applies. A short walk away is the Santa Croce Church where non-Catholic and Catholic weddings can take place. A mile away (by road or boat) is one of Italy's most popular venues for small weddings - Lovers Walk.
The hotel is ideal for those couples that want an in-town location, yet want to be on the sea and beach and have wonderful sea and coastal views. It is also convenient for the mainline train station of Sapri, making it exceptionally convenient.
Sapri is a seaside town located on the border between Campania and Basilicata and set against a backdrop of green hills and majestic mountains overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Policastro. It has been a popular holiday resort since roman times, when Cicero called it "
a small gem of the southern sea". It is just as popular today with its long, wide promenade packed with bustling bars and restaurants leading to a wide, sandy/pebbly beach and the clear water of the Gulf. The town itself is full of charm and character with narrow streets leading to an open and attractive town square.
Note: Hotel Mediterraneo is a new hotel for weddings. Recently, Sapri passed a regulation allowing the mayor to conduct LEGAL weddings on their beach - making the hotel now an ideal destination wedding venue in Italy.
